Global News shares Spin Master’s efforts, alongside Save the Children and Children’s Breakfast Clubs of Canada, to deliver the joy of play to Canadian children during a challenging year.
Since 2017, Spin Master and Save the Children have partnered to bring toys to children in emergency situations around the globe; 2020 brought new needs and new challenges with the onset of Covid-19.
In June 2019, The Toy Movement in collaboration with toy retailer in Lebanon & MEA: JouéClub, Early Learning Centre & Toys4Less offered 3000 gifts to 3000 kids from seven different NGOs in Lebanon: Malaak, Bonheur Du Ciel, Foi et Lumiere, Libami, Al Younbouh, Kids Alive & Mabarrat.
In February 2019, the Toy Movement in partnership with Save the Children visited the Dadaab refugee camp in rural Kenya. This trip included executive leaders and employees from both Spin Master and Save the Children, and together delivered over 50,000 toys and GUND teddy bears to children living in the camp and host communities.
Our goal for the 2018 Toy Movement is to give that opportunity back to 117,000 displaced children – The largest Toy Movement to date. Toys are something kids can call their own. It provides that moment of happiness, imagination and play. It allows kids to just be kids.
The Toy Movement partnered with Elite Brands to distribute toys to over 3,000 children over the course of three days. Just in time for Christmas, employees and volunteers organized and distributed toys to children in both Cartagena and Bogota.
In May 2018, The Toy Movement partnered with two minor hockey organizations, The Mimico Canadiens and the Rankin Inlet, to bring toys to children in Canada’s far north.
The Toy Movement and Save the Children teamed up to deliver 91,096 toys to 40,000 children in ten refugee and internally displaced persons camps across Northern Iraq.
On December 15th, the ORPHANetwork (ONET) and the Toy Movement brought the gift of play to 13,000 children living in impoverished areas across Nicaragua. A five-person team from Spin Master joined forces with ONET to distribute toys, just in time for Christmas.
Employees and volunteers from Spin Master and Tecma Group kicked off the holiday by hand wrapping and delivering toys to children from schools in the Ciudad area.
Earlier this year, Spin Master distributed toys to over 50,000 children living in Syrian refugee camps throughout Turkey. Partnering with Red Crescent Turkey and Samatli, the groups coordinated logistics, transportation, delivery and gift-wrapping.
Spin Master was joined by TECMA Group in donating over 18,000 toys to disadvantaged children in Tijuana, Mexico just before the holidays.
Spin Master Corp teamed up with TECMA and its employees who volunteered their time to facilitate the wrapping and delivery of 3,500 toys to disadvantaged children in Juarez, Mexico.
Spin Master Ltd teamed up with the Canadian Embassy, El Al Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines, the Muasher Group, and numerous volunteers on the ground to deliver over $300K in toys to underprivileged children in the country.
